Welcoming the Sacred Animal Self - meet your personal animal totem spirits and discuss the magical tradition of Modern Totemism
Friday May 8, 2026 9:00am - 10:15am CDT
Animal Totem magic is one of humanity’s oldest forms of spiritual connection — instinctive, ancestral, and rooted in our shared origins with the natural world. It is the birthright of humanity. Modern Totemism is a contemporary framework designed to help today’s seekers tap into that ancient bond, recognizing the animal forces that dwell within and shape who we are. In this workshop, join the co-creators of the Modern Totemism tradition for an exploration of animal totem energies and how they reflect the truth of your inner self. We’ll discuss the Nine Totem structure that lies at the heart of this path, how each totem represents a distinct facet of your being, and how to work with them for personal insight and spiritual growth. Including NEW totemic concepts and ideas NOT seen in previous workshops or the book! You’ll also be guided through a meditative practice to begin connecting with your own totems — and leave with tools to deepen that relationship in your magical life.

“Using for Sympathy”: the Powwowing tradition in American culture
Friday May 8, 2026 10:45am - 12:00pm CDT
This presentation examines the history and the magical practices employed by the American "Powwow doctor” or “Hex."   The practice of Braucherei or Powwowing, known in the American South as “Using for Sympathy” was brought from Europe to America by people of Germanic origin who migrated from Switzerland and Germany during the colonial era. Powwowing manifested in rural areas wherever Germanic people settled.  We will explore various magical procedures and incantations employed for spirit work and healing along with their relations with more conventional religious traditions.   Famous Carolina and Pennsylvania Powwow doctors will be profiled, and excerpts from field transcripts will be presented to provide evidence and context to this unique and enduring folk magical/religious heritage.

Invoking Buffy: Working with Pop Culture to Empower Your Magick
Friday May 8, 2026 3:15pm - 4:30pm CDT
Do you remember when your interest in the occult was first sparked? Was it watching Dark Willow shoot lightning from her fingertips in the midst of grief-induced rage? Maybe you fervently changed with Nancy as she uttered her spell over an ornate altar. Or perhaps, you were simply drawn to the mysterious allure of The Dark Crystal. Many of us were introduced to magick through the popular television, books, and movies of recent decades…but is there deeper power to be discovered behind these modern myths of our culture? Together, we will explore the energies behind these powerful characters and their stories…and learn to harness that energy for our own magick!

Beyond the Servitor: On the Crafting of Spirits and Conjuring of Fetiches
Saturday May 9, 2026 9:00am - 10:15am CDT
In this class we will explore the creation of fetich objects and spirit vessels through the intersection of artistry and artifice. With an animistic approach towards spirit work we will discuss perspectives and methodologies for engaging with and conjuring spirits. We will then explore the concepts of created spirits and familiar spirits. Further, this class will look at co-creative and relational processes for partnering with botanical, animal, and mineral materia, as well as employing commonplace objects as mediums by which we might craft enspirited objects such as the fetich, and conjure forth spirits. Finally, we will conclude with a discussion on ways that the fetich may be enspirited, aligned to its work, cared for, and worked with.

The Way of the Shaman— Ancient Rituals, Modern Practice; a dive into the way of Core Shamanism, a modern methodology to walk a very ancient spiritual path.
Saturday May 9, 2026 3:15pm - 4:30pm CDT
Shamanism is the spiritual path of direct revelation. It is a way magic, of animism, spiritualism, healing, service, and deep knowing. Core Shamanism (or neo-shamanism) is a modern approach that learns respectfully from the shared techniques and wisdom found in traditional shamanic cultures. It offers a universal method for connecting with the spirit world, free from specific cultural frameworks. We’ll begin with the “core” of shamanic belief: there is a spirit world, it is full beings of spirit who are our teachers and allies, and it can be accessed by the shaman with a meditative technique known as Journeying. In this workshop, we’ll explore these foundational ideas and introduce the practice of shamanic journeying. No prior experience or ritual tools are required. The ritual journey segment will take place in a softly darkened space, guided by a hand drum.

Dirty Magic: Sacred Soils for Protection and Justice
Sunday May 10, 2026 9:00am - 10:15am CDT
Magic isn’t always clean, shiny, or sweet — sometimes it’s gritty, raw, and rooted in the earth itself. In this class, we’ll explore the hidden powers of sacred soils and how they’ve been used for protection, justice, and rebalancing the scales in folk traditions around the world. From crossroads dust to graveyard dirt, red clay to garden soil, participants will learn the spiritual signatures of different earths and how to work with them responsibly. We’ll discuss the history of soil-based practices in Hoodoo and global witchcraft, ethical considerations for collecting, and step-by-step workings for shielding, reversal, and setting boundaries. Expect both practical instruction and guided ritual work. By the end, you’ll understand how to use the very ground beneath your feet as an ally in your spiritual practice.

Transhumanism, Neurophilosophy, and Magickal Practice
Sunday May 10, 2026 10:45am - 12:00pm CDT
Today’s discourse about Artificial Intelligence focuses on marketing and automation, centering the impact of technology on capitalism, labor, and privacy. But if we look back at the last half-century of developments in the fields that gave us this technology, we see a number of cutting-edge thinkers offering new ways to understand the relationship between technology and consciousness. Transhumanism, Autopoiesis theory, and the artificial life movement are just a few examples of radical approaches to life and consciousness that emerged from highly scientific and technological fields, only to be sidelined. However, these “radical” views in transhumanism and neuroscience have surprising overlap with core elements of hermetic and esoteric philosophies. In this talk I will focus on two specific ideas that have emerged from scientific fields – “autopoiesis” in evolutionary biology and the “closest continuer view” (CCV) in transhumanist philosophy – and I will examine their relationship to creative visualization, energy work, and past life exploration. By looking at these examples, I hope to motivate further inquiry into the broad overlap between theoretical ideas in transhumanism and neurophilosophy and the exploration of personal magickal practice.
